Police investigating as three men in balaclavas shoot van in Belleek

Three men wearing balaclavas have shot into the van of a contract worker at a hotel in Fermanagh.

The three attackers then fled in the direction of the border.

An Garda Síochana are working with the PSNI to investigate the attack.

It happened at around 9.30am this morning at a hotel on Belleek's Main Street.

Nobody was injured in the attack, but workers at the hotel are said to be shaken.

Chief Inspector Graham Dodds said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Police at Enniskillen on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting reference number 272 02/07/16. Alternatively, if you would prefer to provide information without giving details, please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
