Man stabbed in the back by gang in west Belfast

A man in his 30s has been stabbed in west Belfast.

The attack happened just before 9.30pm in the Springfield Avenue area.

The victim was stabbed during the altercation which involved a number of males. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for a wound to the back.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Springfield Avenue between 9pm and 9.30pm and who witnessed the attack to contact detectives from Reactive & Organised Crime Branch in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 1279 of 25 October.
