Police in Northern Ireland have released an image of a bullet used in a gun attack last night that they called 'brutal and horrific'.

According to the BBC, the paramilitary style attack saw a man shot four times by four masked men in Derry last night.

The attack happened in the Bogside at around 9.30pm.

The victim, said to be a man aged 33, sustained injuries to his legs and abdomen but they are not believed to be life threatening.

PSNI Supt Gordon McCalmont said on the BBC: "We would really like to hear from anyone who was on Westland Street from around 21:20 last night and saw a white Kia Sportage parked in the area."
