Man dead in Ballygowan crash

A man has died after being involved in a car crash in Ballygowan, County Down.

He was the driver of the car which crashed just after 10.00pm on the Comber Road on Monday night.

Inspector David McClements of the PSNI made an appeal for information on the one-car collision.

He said: "A blue Renault Megane was involved in an RTC when it was travelling from Ballygowan to Comber and the man, who is from the Newtownards area, later died as a result.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or who saw the blue Renault Megane to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station in Antrim, or Newtownards Police Station, on the non-emergency number 101."
