Masked gang attack man with sewer rods and baseball bat on Irish street

A man has been beaten by a masked gang wielding sewer rods and a baseball bat in north Belfast.

The attack happened on Forster Street, in the vicinity of the Pony Club.

The 29-year-old victim sustained cuts and bruises.

The gang were reported to have made off in a silver-coloured car towards the Shankill Road area. 

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone with information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 741 of 19/04/17. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
