Man abducted by gang, beaten and tortured with boiling water

A man has been abducted by a gang before being beaten and tortured with boiling water.

The incident happened in north Belfast in the early hours of this morning, Friday 12 May. 

A 30-year-old man was walking on Denmark Street around 1.30am when a car with three men inside pulled up beside him.

Two of the men jumped out and beat him before forcing him into the vehicle. They then took him to a property nearby where the gang beat him again.

During the victim's ordeal his attackers poured boiling water over his right hand and his back.

The victim suffered cuts, bruises and burns to his body as a result of the attack.

The gang then drove him back to Denmark Street where they left him.

Detective Sergeant Sloan is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 227 of 12/05/17.
