Cyclist killed after being hit by car in Holywood

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car this morning.

The incident happened on the A2 in Holywood.

The cyclist who died was in his 60s.

He was riding with another cyclist in his 30s in the Bangor direction when both were struck by a white Mazda car just before 6.30am.

The man in his 30s sustained minor injuries.

Inspector David Cleland is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the A2 this morning and who witnessed the collision to contact local police or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
