Credit agent robbed a gunpoint

PSNI detectives are appealing for information after an armed robbery occurred this morning in the Westrock Gardens area of West Belfast.

At approximately 10.30am, a credit agent was robbed by a man wielding a gun.

The robber made off with a sum of money. He was wearing a balaclava, a black leather jacket and is described as being about 5'6" tall, of slim build and had a Belfast accent.

The victim, who is aged in his 70s, was not injured in the incident.

Detective Constable Gareth Hussey said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
