Car seized in John Boreland murder investigation

The police have seized a vehicle in the ongoing investigation into the murder of prominent loyalist John Boreland.

Mr Boreland, who's funeral took place today, was shot dead at close range by a man using a shotgun last Sunday night outside a house in Sunningdale Gardens, Belfast.

The police have already arrested and released one man in connection with the murder. 

A police spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating the murder of John Boreland in Sunningdale Gardens in north Belfast on Sunday 07 August have conducted two searches in the north Belfast area this morning, Saturday 13 August. A car was seized by police during one of the searches and has been removed for further examination."
