Aggravated burglary involving firearm and baton in Carryduff

Two men and two women have been beaten by a gang wielding a suspected firearm and a baton in Carryduff.

The incident happened at a house on the Ballynahinch Road in the town last night.

At around 7pm, five masked men forced their way into the house.

The men attacked the occupants of the house, a male and a female, before tying them up.

Another man and woman then arrived at the house.

They were taken inside, assaulted and tied up.

The masked men demanded money from the four young people, three in their early 20s and an 18-year-old female, before making off with a sum of cash.

All four of the victims had to be treated by paramedics for their injuries.
