Aggravated burglary in Larne

The police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Larne, County Antrim.

Overnight between Sunday, August 14, and Monday, August 15, masked men armed with a bat and a bar broke into a house on Greenland Parade in the town.

A male inside the house was assaulted and sustained minor injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The front windows of the house were smashed during the burglary.

Detective Sergeant Crothers said: “I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Greenland Parade area in the recent days or anyone who has any information about the incident to contact detectives in Larne on 101, quoting reference 587 on 15/08/16 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
