Nine-year-old boy hit by scrambler near Belfast

Police are appealing for witnesses after a nine-year-old boy was hit by a scrambler in Newtownabbey.

The incident happened at Mossley Pavilion, Carnmoney Road last night at around 8.45pm. 

The young boy was taken to hospital following the collision.

The police have said that an investigation is ongoing and police are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to the identity of the rider of the scrambler.

In a statement a spokesperson said: "If you witnessed this incident or have any information we request that you get in touch with officers in Newtownabbey on 101 quoting reference number 1309 of 03/10/2016 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
