Young boy  injured in Co Meath road crash

A young boy has been injured in a road crash in Co. Meath.

The injured boy - who is thought to be 12 years of age was struck by a truck on the Kells Rd at Abbeylands South at around 10am.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck is not thought to be injured.

The Kells Rd, also known locally as the Old N3, remains closed at Abbeylands South between the Ratholdren Rd and Inner Relief Rd for a forensic examination to be carried out - diversions are in place.
