Woman injured in Cork shooting incident

A woman is recovering in hospital this morning after she was injured in a shooting incident in Cork overnight.

She sustained non life-threatening injuries following what is believed to have been a shooting at a house in the Gurranabraher area of the city.

The 21-year-old was taken to Cork University Hospital in the early hours of this morning. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardaí were called to the scene on Blarney Road in Cork city centre just after 1am today.

A man in his late 20s and a woman in her early 20s were arrested.

He is being detained at Gurranabraher garda station, while she is at Bridewell garda station.
