Woman charged with attempted double murder in Cloona

A 28-year-old woman has been charged on two counts of attempted murder after a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 50s were stabbed in west Belfast.

The woman is also charged with aggravated burglary and causing grievous bodily harm.

The attacks took place in the Cloona Manor area of west Belfast in the early hours of Monday morning. 

She is due to appear at Craigavon Magistrate's Court today and the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Yesterday, the police charged a 35-year-old man with aggravated burglary and two counts of attempted murder.

The victims of the stab attack were taken to hospital and treated for wounds that are not thought to be life-threatening.
