Woman arrested on Shankill Road in connection with 2001 murder
A 33-year-old woman has been arrested by officers investigating the murder of a man with learning difficulties in 2001 in Belfast.
David Clarke, 26, was beaten to death in his flat on the Forthriver Road on June 6 of that year.
His body was later discovered by friends who broke into the flat after they became concerned for his whereabouts.
The woman is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
The case had been reopened after police received new information.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson said: “I would continue to ask anyone with information to do the right thing and come forward with anything they know.
“They can call the police non-emergency number 101 or use the independent charity Crimestoppers where information can be provided anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
