UK pub chain JD Wetherspoons announce the locations and opening dates for their next three Irish ventures.

Speaking to the Irish Times, founder and chairman Tim Martin confirmed that the company's first two pubs in Ireland have done well and they plan to continue to expand.

In the immediate future, the company will open The Great Wood in Blanchardstown on June 23, The Old Borough in Swords on July 21 and The Linen Weaver in Cork on September 1.

They already have the Three Tun Tavern in Blackrock and the Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire and work is already being done on a massive pub and hotel on Camden Street.

“We have also acquired a number of other sites in the Republic of Ireland and look forward, in due course, to developing and opening them as Wetherspoon pubs. We are also continuing to look for good sites across the Republic of Ireland,” Martin said.
