Two people have been arrested in the north African enclave of Ceuta on suspicion of belonging to a jihadi terror cell and being prepared to carry out attacks in Spain, the Spanish Interior Ministry said today.

A ministry statement said the arrests were connected to the detention of four others belonging to the same cell on January 24.

The statement said two houses are being searched. The case is being co-ordinated by the National Court in Madrid.

Ceuta is one of two Spanish enclaves surrounded by Morocco on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other.
