Traffic on Dublin's M50 motorway growing at a rate 10 times the European average
Traffic on Dublin's M50 motorway is growing at a rate that is 10 times the European average, a newspaper has found.
Study of data from traffic counter cameras by the Sunday Business Post shows that average daily traffic volumes have increased by 10.34% since 2013.
In the last year alone, daily traffic volume has grown 6.9% on the route.
The increase is far in excess of what is generally experienced on major roads elsewhere.
Figures from the European Commission show that on average, traffic grows at between 0.6% and 1% per annum.
