Thousands of people have been enjoying RTÉ’s 'Road to the Rising' Commemoration in the centre of Dublin.

A mobile cinema, a steam train and a vintage carousel are among more than 60 attractions on Dublin's main street.

Talks will take place in venues including Wynn's Hotel, Liberty Hall and the Gresham Hotel.

Events will run between 11am and 5pm. All activities are free but some require tickets.

The 'Road to the Rising' - which is being organised in partnership with An Post, Dublin City Council and the Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht - will reflect the lives of all Dubliners - rich and poor - and the small determined group that was plotting rebellion.

For those who are unable to come to O’Connell Street on the day, the event will be brought to audiences through live broadcasts from O’Connell Street including The History Show, Arena, Cormac ag a Cúig, on RnaG and coverage on News Now.
