Teenager remains in critical condition in hospital after falling from a horse
A teenage boy remains in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital where he was rushed last night after falling from a horse .
The 16-year-old, who is believed to be from Cork city, was riding a horse on the banks of the Glashaboy river near John O'Callaghan Park when he was thrown into the flooded river.
The alarm was raised by two of the boy’s friends who were with him.
Gardaí, firefighters and emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene, but the boy is understood to have been the water for a significant time before he was located.
