Paul McCauley murder: New arrest
Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of Paul McCauley in Derry in 2006 have arrested a 25 year old man.
The man has been taken to Strand Road police station for questioning.
The officer leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey said: "Today’s arrest brought the number of people who have been arrested since Paul died last June.
"To date, one man has been charged with murder and another reported to the Public Prosecution Service."
McCauley had two heart attacks on the way to hospital after the attack and he also suffered a brain haemorrhage and a fractured skull.
The civil servant was attacked by up to 15 men at a barbecue in Waterside in 2006 and he never regained consciousness.
