Kerry parish mourns local man who died after attempting to climb in through window

A Kerry parish is in mourning after a local man died after he attempted to climb in through a window in his house after losing his keys.

Dan O'Connor (64) became trapped while climbing through a window at the front of his home in Causeway, Co Kerry.

His body was discovered by his brother-in-law Dan Lynch while he was walking greyhounds by the home early on Monday morning.

The father of four was described as an extremely popular member of the community

Wife Kathleen, daughters Elaine, Karina and Geraldine and son Daniel are being comforted by hundreds this week ahead of Mr O'Connor's Funeral Mass at 11am on Thursday morning at St Peter and Paul's Church in Ballyduff.

"We still don't know exactly what caused his death," Mr Lynch said.

"Dan was extremely popular, a great family man whose main interest was Gaelic Football from his days with Ballyconry Football Club as a young man," he added.
