A memorial charity walk and run has been held on the canal bank in Tullamore to mark the 19th anniversary of the disappearance of Fiona Pender.

Fiona Pender was aged 25 and seven months pregnant when she was last seen alive in her flat in Tullamore town centre.

Her mother, Josephine,  made an emotional appeal for anyone with information about her daughter's disappearance to come forward.

Ms Pender said she believes some people in Tullamore may still have information which could help in the search for Fiona's remains.

She said that would ease the hurt which is being caused to Ms Pender and her son John.

A search of a wooded area in the Slieve Bloom mountains late last year failed to locate any remains.

Ms Pender said she is sure another search will take place in a different area.
