Memorial plaque to be unveiled where family of missing Mayo woman believe she met her death
A memorial plaque will be unveiled later today at Killala Pier where the family of a missing Mayo woman believe she met her death.
The family of Mayo woman Sandra Collins, who went missing 15 years ago, have renewed their appeal for anybody with information to come forward.
The 28-year-old was last seen in the village in north Mayo in December 2000.
Her fleece jacket was later found on the pier but her body has never been recovered.
In a trial last year, a man was acquitted of her murder due to insufficient evidence.
The Collins family have said they will never give up hope of finding her body and have appealed for anybody who might have information to come forward.
A midday service to commemorate Ms Collins will be held at St Tiernan's Church in Crossmolina and later a plaque to her memory will be unveiled at Killala Pier.
