Meath woman wins €350,000 from her first ever Lotto ticket
A woman from Meath has scooped the top prize in a Lotto Plus1 draw thanks to the very first Lotto ticket she ever bought.
A young mother has won €350,000 thanks to a €4 quick pick, the very first Lotto ticket she had ever purchased, according to UTV Ireland.
The ticket, bought in the Topaz Kennelsfort Service Station in Palmerstown on April 9 hit the jackpot in the Lotto Plus1 draw with the numbers 1, 11, 17, 21, 22, 23 and bonus 16.
The woman has chosen to stay anonymous and she spoke to the station about how hard it was to keep quiet when she checked the numbers.
“After I checked the ticket on Monday, I went into the loo in work and just stared at the ticket. I wanted to jump up and down and scream and shout. It was the most unbelievable feeling I’ve ever had.
“It was so difficult to not say anything in work but I stuck to my guns. I’m not one to be in the newspapers with a big cheque or anything like that – I’m a very humble person who likes looking after people – I think it’s what I do best.
“But that doesn’t mean I won’t be home on the couch tonight looking at this cheque and thinking ‘Omg! Three hundred and fifty thousand, three hundred and fifty thousand, three hundred and fifty thousand euro!’”
