Massive US toy store company Toys 'R' Us are reported to be on the brink of opening six shops in the Republic of Ireland.

The company, a massive player in the toy and baby equipment market in the US and the UK, have looked at the Irish market before but a report in today's Irish Times suggests that they may finally be about to make the move.

The report states that a franchisee is loking at opening six shops here, and locations in Dublin and elsewhere have already been 'targeted'.

The company already has a presence in 33 countries across the globe and a formal announcement on an Irish expansion is expected in weeks.
