A man has been shot at an address in Cranbrook Gardens in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.

The man, who is in his 30s, was shot in his upper body.

He is currently recovering in hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

Sinn Féin councillor Gerard McCabe said: “A man has been seriously injured in a shooting in Ardoyne tonight.

“This shooting is wrong and I condemn those who carried it out.

“The people who carried this out have nothing other than hurt and intimidation to offer the people of this community.

“The people of Ardoyne have rejected this type of activity and those behind this latest gun attack should end their futile actions immediately.”
