A 27-year-old man is due to appear in court tomorrow morning after gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) seized approximately three kilos of cocaine with an approximate street value of €210,000 in Dublin.

Gardai stopped and searched a van in Clondalkin yesterday afternoon when they discovered the drugs.

One man was arrested and taken to Clondalkin Garda station where he was detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice(Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He was later charged and is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am.

Gardai said this intelligence led operation use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” gardai said. “Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
