Man charged with attempted murder after Newry shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder after two shooting incidents which happened in Newry last month.

The 20-year-old is charged with two counts of attempted murder, kidnap, possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and a number of drugs offences.

He will appear at Newry Magistrate's Court this morning and the charges will be reviewed by the PPS. 

The charges relate to two incidents in which men were shot in the legs in the Sandy Street area of the Armagh Road on September 17.
