A 38-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a bomb attack on a catholic police officer in 2008.

A booby-trap bomb was placed under the car of the victim near Castlederg, County Tyrone, by dissident republicans.

The off-duty officer was pulled from the car by a  member of the public.
