Man attacked near city centre this morning before rush hour

Police are appealing for information after a 43-year-old man was attacked on Deramore Avenue, South Belfast, this morning.

The man was assaulted by two men who are believed to be in their early 20s at around 6.30 am.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries which aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said: “I would ask anyone who saw two men in the Ormeau Road area around this time to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
