Man abducted and beaten in Lisburn

A 22-year-old man has been abducted, bundled into a car and taken to a flat where he was assaulted before escaping.

The man had been walking in the Saintfield Road/Ballynahinch road area in the early hours of this morning when he was hit over the head, bundled into a car and taken to the flat by three masked men.

Police later found the man in the Barrack Street area at around 1.30am.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detective Sergeant Lyttle said: “I would ask anyone who saw any suspicious activity, or who knows anything about this incident, to contact detectives in Lisburn Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
