LATEST: Gardai release 14-year-old boy who had been questioned over factory fire
Gardai have released a 14-year-old boy they had been questioning over a fire that destroyed a factory in Drogheda overnight.
Ten units of the fire brigade are still at the scene and although the fire is now under control it is still smouldering.
The fire service said it was alerted to the blaze at Dawn Paper's premises on the Donore road at around 10pm last night.
Gardaí are also at the scene but there are no reports of any casualties.
Investigations into the cause of the fire led to the arrest of a 14-year-old boy close to the scene. He was questioned over suspected criminal damage, but has since been released without charge.
Dawn Paper was established in 1988 and the company manufactures industrial cleaning paper and domestic tissue paper products for the Irish market.
So far there are no reports of any injuries.
