Gun victim Darren Kearns was laid to rest in a lavish silver-plated coffin pulled by a horse-drawn carriage as mourners heard the drug dealer was a “Del Boy” and a “people’s person”.

A strong security operation was put in place with a highly-visible garda presence in the area for Kearns’ funeral at the Church of the Most Precious Blood in Cabra, Dublin, yesterday.

His coffin was escorted into the church behind a three-wheeled yellow Reliant Robin van – famously driven by the Trotter brothers in the classic comedy, ‘Only Fools and Horses’.

Hundreds of mourners gathered to remember the slain drug dealer who was shot dead in front of his wife Sharon on December 30 outside a Chinese restaurant where they had just eaten.
