Generous Brendan O'Carroll gifts $50k to family of pregnant woman killed in horror crash
Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has donated $50,000 (€32,000) to the family of a pregnant Australian woman who died a horror crash on Friday.
Sarah Paino (24) lost her life when her car collided with another vehicle in Hobart on the island of Tasmania.
However, her unborn baby somehow survived the accident and was born 32 weeks prematurely.
The baby is now said to be in a stable condition in hospital and his father Daniel has named him Caleb.
The couple’s two-year-old son, who was also in the car at the time, suffered minor injuries.
Dubliner Brendan pledged the money to the grieving family when he heard of their story on Aussie news show The Project.
Speaking live on air, the big-hearted comedian said: “I was really touched by the piece you did about Daniel in Hobart.
“We’re very much a family so if it’s okay with you guys — we as the Brown family would like to donate 50 grand to that fund.
"We're travelling out to do the show in Hobart and we hope to make you guys smile - but in the meantime Hobart's been really good to us and we'd want to get a chance to be good back".

An online campaign had already raised some $150,000 before O’Carroll made his donation.
Project presenter Peter Helliar tweeted: “Wow, if u didn’t already love Brendan O’Carroll enough (Mrs. Brown Boys) he just donated $50,000 to grieving Hobart Dad Daniel & his 2 boys. (sic)”
