Gardai seize cocaine worth €100,000 in Co Dublin
Two men are due before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning after a drugs bust in Dublin.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin region, Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Serious Crime Task Force, stopped two men in the Saggart area at approximately 4pm yesterday.
During this stop and search operation one kilo of cocaine was seized and two men, aged 27 and 57, were arrested for drug trafficking offences and brought to Clondalkin Garda Station where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Follow up searches yielded a further quantity of cocaine. The total street value of cocaine seized in this investigation is estimated at €100,000 (pending analysis).
Both men were subsequently charged in relation to the seizure.
