Gardaí seized almost €1 million worth of heroin in a major bust this evening.

Officers from the Crumlin District supported by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau The seized the drugs during searches that were conducted in the Walkinstown area of Dublin that included a parked car.

Gardaí said this “significant” seizure of heroin resulted from a report from a member of the public that there was suspicious activity in the Limekiln Lane area of Dublin 12.

“A  large quantity of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of €840,000, pending analysis, was seized,” Gardaí stated.

“There were no arrests and investigations are ongoing.”

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing investigations targeting drug trafficking activities in the Dublin region.

“Gardaí would like to appeal to anybody with further  information in relation to this seizure to contact your local Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800666111,” Gardaí added.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
