BREAKING: 'Fat' Freddie Thompson is charged with murder
'Fat' Freddie Thompson has been charged with murder in a Dublin Garda station tonight.
He had been in Garda custody after being picked up by gardai hours following his return to Ireland during the week.
The Kinahan cartel thug was arrested by armed gardai as part of the investigation into the feud murder of David 'Daithi' Douglas earlier this year.
He was detained by members of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) as he returned to the capital on November 1.
It is understood that Thompson (35) flew from Birmingham to Belfast and travelled by car to Dublin, where gardai were waiting for him in the north of the county.
He was later questioned at Kilmainham Garda Station over the murder of Douglas (55), who was shot dead outside a shop on Bridgefoot Street in the south inner city last July 1.
Last night he was charged with the murder of Mr Douglas in Kevin Street Garda Station and is due before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning.
