The funeral of veteran republican Kevin McGuigan has taken place in Belfast.
The father-of-nine was gunned down outside his Comber Court home in the east Belfast estate last Wednesday evening.
There was a heavy police presence as the procession made its way through the Short Strand.
The words 'Big Kev' appeared as a floral tribute to the 53-year-old beside his coffin ahead of a funeral mass at St Matthew's church in the city.
It is believed that McGuigan was murdered in retaliation for the hit on Gerard 'Jock' Davison in the Markets are of the city in May.
However, the Sunday World has revealed that elements within republicanism believe that McGuigan was no the trigger man who killed Jock.
The pair, who were once allies, became bitter enemies, with locals saying there was no love lost between the ex-Provos in the final years of their lives.
