Excited reaction to Coldplay gig in Croke Park next summer

There has been an excited reaction to the revelation that Coldplay will play Croke Park next summer.

As per our advertisement in today’s Sunday World the band will play a show in Croke Park on July 8th 2017.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am this Friday and prices start from €69.50.

Speculation of an Irish concert was high when the band uploaded a video of various flags, including the Irish tricolour, flashing saying "2017" on Friday.

The Welsh, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Polish and Austrian flag are among the flags featured.

The show marks the band’s first gig in Ireland since they headlined Oxegen in 2011. This year, the band released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, and headlined Glastonbury.

So far, there is only one show scheduled for Croke Park, although it remains to be seen whether any other dates will be added.

Croke Park is limited to holding three concerts per year, although no other gigs have been announced for the venue next summer.
