Defence Forces tackle suspicious device found beneath car in North Dublin

A Defence Forces operation in North Dublin that sprung into action after a suspicious device was found beneath a car has ended.

The bomb disposal unit was called in after gardaí in Clontarf received a call this morning in relation to the suspicious device.

The device was found under a vehicle on St Aidan’s Park Road in Marino.

The Defence Forces’ Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit was notified and soldiers attended the scene.

The area around where the device was cordoned off as Defence Forces dealt with the situation.

It is not known yet if the device was viable.
