UPDATE: Teen death in Belfast being treated as murder

The police are treating the death of a young man in Belfast as murder.

The teenager was found lying in Glasvey Close in Twinbrook.

Early reports suggest the man was the victim of a violent attack. 

A police spokesperson said: “After examination by ambulance staff the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A number of injuries were noted on the body and as such, we are treating this death as murder.

“An investigation is now underway and we are seeking information from the public to assist us with our enquiries.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information or who witnessed any disturbances in the area of the Stewartsown Road or Glasvey Close to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101.

"Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
