Controlled drugs seized by gardai in Limerick

Controlled drugs - including cannabis resin, cocaine and benzodiazepine worth more than an estimated €80,000 - along with €13,000 in cash, were seized by gardai in Limerick yesterday.

Gardaí carried out 12 separate searches targeting organised crime in the city.

The 12 locations in the city were searched this afternoon as part of "Operation Thor" and they included houses, derelict houses and waste land.

Controlled drugs - including cannabis resin, cocaine and benzodiazepine worth more than an estimated €80,000 - along with €13,000 in cash, was seized during the searches.

A number of shotgun cartridges were also recovered at one of the locations, but no arrests were made.
