Conor's kid is a now a web knockout

Despite Conor McGregor’s declaration that he doesn’t want his family’s lives to become a celebrity circus after the birth of his baby boy, the new addition to the McGregor clan has already more than 30,000 followers on an Instagram account set up in his name.

ConormcGregorjr, an account verified by the social media platform – “run by my parents Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin” – went live as the pair welcomed little Conor ‘Jack’ McGregor into the world.

The 8lb 14 ounce bundle of joy was born in the Coombe Hospital at around 8pm on Friday night.

Proud granddad Tony McGregor said: “Baby Conor Jack McGregor was delivered last night at 8pm. The parents are absolutely over the moon and everyone is healthy.”

The UFC champion has been documenting the imminent arrival of his first child as he shared a smiling snap of the couple in the hospital.

McGregor told his 12.5m Instagram followers last week that the happy couple were anticipating their baby’s arrival and said he wanted to protect his family.

“I don’t want to be bringing my child into this. I don’t want my family to be like that [a celebrity],” he said.

“I’m not trying to bring a kid into that. If someone comes near me when I have my kid in my hands, like the way they come near me now, looking for pictures, someone’s gonna be badly hurt.”
