Busy night as fire crews battle blazes in Dublin and Wicklow
Firefighters acted quickly last night to douse the flames from two wildfires – one in Dublin and the other in Wicklow.
A gorse fire broke out in the Enniskerry/Delgany area first and concerned residents called the fire services after fears that the blaze would quickly spread.
After hours of attendance Greystones and Bray fire services finally got the fire under control and the area was declared safe.
Meanwhile, the Dublin mountains around Tallaght also saw a gorse fire break out yesterday evening.
Dublin Fire Brigade crews attended the fire, which could be clearly seen from the M50, and it was eventually got under control.
