Gardai investigating after body of man found in field
GARDAI have launched an investigation into the discovery of a man’s body in Co. Kildare.
It is understood the body was found in a field in Ballinlig near Broadford close to the Kildare-Meath border at 3.30pm this afternoon.
Gardai from Leixlip have been dispatched to the scene and a garda spokesman said it was “very much a live situation at the moment”.
The Garda Technical Bureau is on the way to the scene.
Gardai are investigating whether the foul play was involved. They said the death appeared 'suspicious'.
It is understood a man from the area went missing recently.
The office of the State Pathologist has also been informed of the death.
UPDATE: Gardai have said the body of the man has been removed to the Mortuary at Naas General Hospital.
A full post-mortem examination will take place tomorrow morning, a spokesperson said.
