POLICE in Belgium have made a number of arrests in a Brussels suburb in connection with last night’s terrorists attacks in Paris.

Belgian TV news reported an arrest has been made in the suburb of Molenbeek and a picture posted on Twitter showed a man being handcuffed by plain clothes officers.

The mayor of Molenbeek, Françoise Schepmans says she can nor deny nor confirm that there is indeed a link between the attacks in Paris, reported RTBF .

The TV channel quoted a source saying “between two and three searches, linked to the Paris attacks" and that one man had been arrested.

Earlier it was reported that one of the cars used by the terrorists carried a Belgian number plate, reports French newspaper Le Monde.

A witness said he saw two black cars, and one had a Belgian number plate.
