Belfast City Hall is to be bathed in the colours of Le Tricolore this evening in tribute to those who tragically died as a result of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Sinn Fein Lord Mayor Arder Carson will also open a book of condolences for members of the public to sign.

The red, white and blue colours of Le Tricolore will be shone on City Hall from 5pm this evening until 6.30pm.

The annual switching-on of the Christmas tree lights will then take place.

From 9pm onward the City Hall will again be illuminated in the national colours of France.
