Mystery surrounds identity of Dublin's Lotto jackpot winner
Ireland's latest Lotto jackpot winner bought the lucky ticket in a shop in Dublin.
The €5.5m-winning ticket was bought on Saturday in a Spar shop on Upper Baggot Street.
A Lotto spokeswoman confirmed yesterday there was just one winning ticket in the Saturday night draw for €5,544,864.
The winning numbers were 8, 15, 17, 22, 34, and 38. The bonus number was 10.
"We have no idea who won it," said a member of staff in the Dublin 4 store yesterday.
"We haven't heard anything about the winner yet.
Staff member Kieron Connolly (22) said: "People have been coming into the shop and asking about the win.
"But it's still not known who won. There's been a bit of a buzz around the place. It has certainly put a bit of excitement into the day," he said.
"We have a lot of regular customers who buy Lotto tickets - and we're hoping it's one of them.
"During the week, quite a lot of office workers come in to buy tickets. And there are a lot of builders coming in lately, so it could be anyone. We're wondering who it could be," he added.
"I was working here on Saturday morning and I hope I sold the lucky ticket," he added.
Staff member Ali Aamir (26) said he had checked a number of Lotto tickets for customers during the day, but they weren't the winners.
"People have been coming in asking if this is the shop," said Ali.
There were two Match 5+Bonus winners, each netting €60,093.
There were no winners of the top prizes in the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws. There were 30 Match 5 winners, each receiving €1,381.
